To me a regular scrapper is someone who is not concerned with trends, the newest/latest/greatest/most cutting edge products and industry *it girls*...someone who scraps for personal enjoyment without the obsession. I don't think regular scrappers could list 42 of the most popular sb websites, tell you who won Masters in 2004 or Hall of Fame in 2001, how many kid(s) BH has or probably even who BH is. Well, maybe they know who BH is...she's a pretty big deal. :) I think regular scrappers scrap-lift regularly without feeling guilty about it. Regular scrappers are people who generally can't name 96% of the Bazzill colors on sight. (snort) They don't have rooms dedicated to the production of scrapbooks. In short (yeah right), they are just a more casual breed of scrapbooker.

Sarah:

LOL! OK, I'm busted. =:)

Thank you for your interesting comment. It seems the things I find that make someone a "designer" scrapper are quite "regular" to you.

So what do you think is the distinction between designers and regulars? Is it being published? Is it being paid in some way for scrapping? Or is is something else? Is there a distinction at all or is all about just having different styles?

I think you've confused having a certain style with having a different approach. You can be a regular scrapper and use only one photo on a LO. You can be a regular scrapper and use dimesional items. You can be a regular scrapper and enjoy inking. Regular scrappers can make their own embellishments...actually I think most regular scrappers actually do make most of their own embellishments rather than pay a premium price for premade items.

I would say that anyone who has a blog dedicated to scrapbooking has probably passed from being a regular scrapper. :)
